If this, then that →
Let’s start talking about cool web stuff, from a non-programmer point of view. My first stop, my jack of all trades, is surely If this, then that. What does it do? If something interesting happen in one of your web2.0 app (e.g. that cool girl you like posts another pic of her in shibari bondage), then you can have something else happen (e.g. send you an email, so you know it’s time...

GuardaGuarda
Snowy, windy morning. I wish I could go to a sauna and wellness club instead of work and German course. Maybe it is time to sign up for the gym on the floor above the office. They have a sauna. I’d only wish they would not sound like Sturmtruppen preparing an assault every time they do powerstep above us.

INTP
Best description of my personality type that I have found in a long time: The problem is that INTP’s live in their heads. Reality to them is the models that exist in there, the outside world is the ghost. When you speak to one it is voice coming in from that ghost world, the message is processed according to the internal model and a response given. The INTP will not notice that dust on...

On Pick-Up Artists' techne
I was checking out The Game book. It may be the expat loneliness, but a couple of expat friends came up independently singing the praise of that book and the whole pick-up artists / Venusian arts  movement. Doesn’t it strike obvious and sad how much of our culture is shaped by and built on technology? It has become our basic way of thinking. When we’re faced with a problem, we invent...

The Big Lie →
Scritto da un ex-banchiere di Wall Street. At the end of the day, the convulsion to come won’t really be about Wall Street’s derivatives malefactions, or its subprime fun and games, or rogue trading, or the folly of banks. It will be about this society’s final opportunity to rip away the paralyzing shackles of corruption or else dwell forever in a neofeudal social order. You might say that...
